AI credits
What uses an AI credit, how many your plan includes, and what happens when they run out.
What uses a credit
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| One Ask question | 1 |
| One AI Why? explanation | 1 |
| One set of page speed fixes | 1 |
| The What changed summary | Free |
| The summary at the top of weekly and monthly reports | Free |
If the AI call fails, the credit is given back. Answers that are already saved (a "Why?" you opened before, fixes for the same speed check) don't use another credit.
Shared across your websites
Your account has one workspace and one plan, so all your websites share its AI credits. See Billing and workspaces.
How many you get
Credits come with the workspace's plan and grow with its event tier. They reset on the 1st of each month (UTC), and unused credits don't carry over. Yearly plans get the monthly amount every month.
| Monthly events | Starter | Growth |
|---|---|---|
| 10k | 25 | 60 |
| 100k | 60 | 120 |
| 200k | 90 | 175 |
| 500k | 150 | 300 |
| 1M | 200 | 425 |
| 2M | 275 | 550 |
| 5M | 400 | 775 |
| 10M | 500 | 1,000 |
| 10M+ | 600 | 1,200 |
The 14-day trial includes 50 credits for the whole trial. The trial covers your first workspace; workspaces you add later get their credits when you choose their plan.
The Ask panel and the workspace's billing settings show how many are left. The API returns the same numbers for the site's workspace at GET /v1/sites/{id}/ai/usage.
When they run out
- What changed and Why? keep working. A built-in template writes them from the same measurements.
- Ask and page speed fixes wait until the workspace's credits reset, or until you move that workspace up a tier.
Fair use
Very long Ask conversations cost more to answer than short ones. If a workspace's AI use in a month goes far past what its plan's credits normally cover, AI pauses for that workspace until the 1st: the summaries switch to templates and Ask waits. Normal use never gets near this, and the Ask panel tells you if it happens.
